THE new iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models have a neat trick to help users cope with the bigger screens.
Apple has included a hidden one handed keyboard in the software in the latest version of iOS 11 to help people with smaller hands.
Once activated the keyboard is squeezed up into either the left or right side of the screen, depending on whether you are left or right handed.
All you have to do to activate the compact keyboard is to press and hold the small emoji or globe icon which appears to the left of the space bar.
This activates a pop-up menu which gives you the option to scrunch the keys to either side of the screen.
Plus versions of the iPhone 6, 7 or 8, will get a keyboard closer in size to the one on the smaller 4.7-inch version of that device.
Apple has made this tweak work on a system level, so the keyboard will stay in the one-handed mode, across different apps, until you change it back.
