John Terry and Frank Lampard hold talks with Chelsea chief over return
Frank Lampard and John Terry have held talks about returning to Chelsea, according to reports. Lampard retired just over a year ago and is currently completing his coaching badges alongside his punditry work.
Terry, meanwhile, is still playing for Aston Villa but has already started studying for his coaching badges. Lampard has already spent time with Chelsea’s youth teams this season, while Terry returned to the club’s Cobham training base this week where he met up with his former teammates and Antonio Conte.
According to The Sun, both Lampard and Terry met with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia this week for talks about returning to Stamford Bridge. ‘I think, for John, Chelsea is his home,’ Conte said on Friday. ‘He can come here when he wants.
The doors are always open for him and the players who wrote the history of this club. ‘It’s always a pleasure to see him and have a chat. It’s right, also, for the players to see again their old captain. ‘For sure, for sure, John Terry’s role last season was incredible.
‘He didn’t play a lot of games but, despite this, his commitment is incredible and he helped me a lot in the changing room. Also to use the right work in the right moment.’
